Adding a taxonomy code in Legacy ASPC

To add a taxonomy code in Legacy, follow the steps below:

1.If you bill 5010, electronic claims go to Options -> EMC Options in the 5010 Claims module. On PG 3 of the ECS, options select the Paper Icon "EDIT"   to edit the record. Enter the taxonomy code and SAVE. We used the taxonomy code for Chiropractic below:

2. Next in the Legacy ASPC main program go to File -> Open -> Providers. Select the Paper Icon "EDIT"   to Add the taxonomy code in the Taxon box and SAVE. We used the taxonomy code for Chiropractic below.

3. If you submit print paper claims and only need to add the taxonomy code for a specific insurance company, you can create a PIN record for that company with the taxonomy code. To do so click the "PIN" button Located next to "Save" with the Provider file and ADD a record, selecting the insurance company. Fill in the taxonomy code in the Group and PIN with the ZZ qualifier and click OK. Do so for each provider you need to add the taxonomy code for. We used the taxonomy code for Chiropractic below:

NOTE: You may need to enable the PIN file if this has not been enabled prior. To do so go to Insurance->Options->Select the Paper Icon "EDIT" to Select the option used for billing the specific carrier that is requiring the taxonomy code and click EDIT then check-off the " Activate Provider Group#\PIN# from Alter file" box on the Main tab bottom left and then SAVE:

4. If you need to add the taxonomy code in box 19, go to Insurance->Options select the option set you use to bill the specific carrier that's requesting the taxonomy code in box 19. Go to tab 2 select the Paper Icon "EDIT" and fill in the taxonomy code in "Box 19 message to print" and SAVE. We've used the code for Chiropractic in the example below"
